Hook-A-Hero Scholarship
The Hook-A-Hero: Family First, Future Strong Scholarship was created to support the next generation of first responder families. Founded in 2026, this scholarship helps children of current or retired first responders pursue their post-secondary education with confidence.
Rooted in Hook-A-Hero’s mission of care, community, and support, the scholarship honors the dedication and sacrifice of those who serve and protect. By investing in their children’s futures, Hook-A-Hero continues its commitment to strengthening families and building brighter paths for the heroes who stand behind the badge.

2026 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Quinn Metcalf
Lennard High School
Awarded $1,000
Quinn Metcalf is a Senior at Lennard High School who is also Dual Enrolled in college courses through the Collegiate Academy. He plans to attend the University of South Florida for Physical Science after graduation. He is also in a number of clubs including Key Club and National Honor Society and has a GPA of 3.71. Quinn also volunteers from time to time at local events through his school and has been employed at The Vineyards Trattoria and Pizzeria for over a year. In his free time, he runs, lifts weights, and spends time with friends and family. After college, he plans to go into Law Enforcement, following in the footsteps of his father.

Brooke Wright
Strawberry Crest High School
Awarded $1,000
Brooke Wright is a senior at Strawberry Crest High School and an active FFA officer, where she has developed leadership, communication, and teamwork skills through years of involvement. Brooke has competed at the national level in agricultural communications issues, earning top placements while representing her chapter. Outside of school, she owns a photography business and has gained valuable work experience with Patterson Companies. She is also involved in community service through National Honor Society and agricultural outreach events. Her passion for helping others has led her to pursue a career in nursing after graduation. Brooke plans to attend college and become a registered nurse, where she can make a meaningful impact in the lives of others and give back to her community.

Minimum verified 50 community service hours
Award Amount
The amount of $1,000 will be awarded to the recipient of the scholarship on or before May 1, 2026.

Submit required 250–300 word essay

Upload copy of parent or stepparent first responder ID or credentials (law enforcement or fire rescue)

Upload or email two letters of recommendation:
one from a community service or school leader highlighting your community service, leadership, or resilience
one from a student peer explaining why he/she believes you deserve this scholarship

Upload high school transcript or summary sheet verifying GPA and service hours

OPTIONAL: Upload completion certificate from Explorers, ROTC, Teen Court, Police Athletic League, Citizen Police Youth Academy, Youth Fire Academy, or Public Safety Education Program
Application Deadline
Completed application and all supporting documents must be received no later than midnight on February 20, 2026.

Children of members of the Peirano Family Foundation Board of Directors are not eligible to apply. Children of donors to the Peirano Family Foundation are welcome to apply, but will receive no preferential rating. Scholarship applications will be subject to a blind review process by a panel of outside judges.
