2026 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT

 

Jacob "Jake" Ogden is a senior at Strawberry Crest High School in Dover, Florida, where he earned the Cambridge AICE diploma and graduated in the top 20% of his class. This summer he will begin his studies at Florida Atlantic University's College of Engineering and Computer Science, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Jake has spent his high school years balancing a rigorous academic schedule with varsity football, part-time work, and serving his community through FFA and the Celebrate Birthdays organization, where he helped throw birthday parties for children in need. He is a young man of strong faith with a lifelong passion for building and inventing things, and he plans to build a career as a Mechanical Engineer designing and improving the systems that people depend on every day. Jake says he is incredibly grateful to the Periano Family Foundation Affronti Scholarship for believing in him and making his path to FAU possible.   None of this would be happening without them!
