The Tampa Bay Maritime Scholarship Foundation administers the George Steinbrenner Memorial Maritime Scholarship, established in 2015, to support Hillsborough County Public Schools graduates pursuing post-secondary education or technical training in the maritime industry. Scholarships are offered through both Collegiate and Technical tracks, helping students prepare for careers in fields such as welding, pipe fitting, marine joinery, port and terminal operations, and seagoing apprenticeships.
The vision of the Tampa Bay Maritime Scholarship Foundation is to strengthen the future of the maritime industry by investing in the education and career development of the next generation of maritime professionals.
