St. Vincent DePaul Society Faith & Grace Garden

The Peirano Family Foundation received a $1500 Community Grant from the DeBartolo Family Foundation to support the Faith and Grace Garden. We are so grateful to the DeBartolo Family Foundation for their generosity!

St. Vincent DePaul Society (SVDP) Faith & Grace Garden, located at 9807 N. 56th St. Temple Terrace, was started in June 2019. This organic garden was planted on 2.5 acres of the food pantry property for the clients of SVDP. The garden consists of two 4’ x 30’ raised beds, multiple rustic beds, a tower system for herbs, a pollinator garden, compost bed and fruit trees throughout the property. The long term goal for the garden is to have the majority of the property filled with edible foods to help feed those in need. Health and wellness of the SVDP clients is a top priority as the use of the garden aims to address root causes of poverty and food insecurity through growing and education.

The vision for the garden is to grow real food and harvest wellness through an organic, nutrient-dense whole food experience; healing the mind, body and spirit.

The mission of the garden is to teach and empower the members of the SVDP community to grow together and share the bounty of God's harvest.

Genesis 1:29 "Then God said, 'I give you every seed bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.'"

The garden is actively seeking community volunteers to help with planting, maintenance, harvesting and food distribution.  Volunteers can reach out to Kelly Seeley at (813) 610-6975 or by emailing kellymseeley@gmail.com
